Bassoon Reeds
From beginning bassoonists in middle school to professional bassoonists in orchestras across the country, quality handmade bassoon reeds are crucial for bassoonists at all levels of playing. I currently offer two types of reeds, both handmade by me in South Texas.
Student Bassoon Reeds: $20 each
This reed is made with students and hobbyists in mind. It is made from Barton Cane's gouged, shaped, and profiled bassoon cane in the Bocal Majority style using Gonzalez cane. These reeds are light, free-blowing, and responsive across all registers. They are ideal for beginner bassoonists and those who double on contra and prefer a lighter bassoon reed. These reeds are sealed using hot glue.
Professional Bassoon Reeds - $25 each
This reed is ideal for more advanced players and are tested for intonation, response, and tone across registers. It is handmade using Barton Cane's gouged, shaped, and profiled bassoon cane using the Herzberg shape and Lavaro cane. Professional reeds are ideal for advanced high school students, college students, and professional bassoonists. These reeds are wrapped in nylon string and sealed using Duco cement.

Wrapped Pencils: $5 each
Black Ticonderoga No. 2 pencils hand-wrapped using Squirrely Stash or Reeds by Stephanie hand-dyed nylon thread. A MUST for any bassoonist's music stand!
Handmade Reed Box: $10 each
Clear plastic reed box with ventilation holes. Fits 5 standard bassoon reeds on foam reed-ribbon. (Reeds not included.)
